As a global technology leader in the tire industry, Michelin imposes extremely high requirements on spraying equipment precision, cleanliness, and reliability. “When we first contacted Michelin’s procurement team by email in 2021, they politely replied that Chinese brands were not under consideration,” recalled Mansheng’s overseas business director. “We persisted and exhibited at the Hannover Messe for two consecutive years, conducting live spraying demos in rented booths.”
The turning point came in 2023, when a Michelin technical expert was impressed by the coating uniformity of Mansheng’s 360° rotating spraying system. After a rigorous 9 month qualification review, sample testing, and factory audit, Mansheng defeated two long established European coating equipment suppliers in the global tender at the end of 2024 and won the multimillion yuan order.
“Internal evaluation confirmed that Mansheng equipment meets or exceeds current European machines in coating uniformity, material utilization, and color change speed, with clear advantages in price and delivery time,” said Mansheng’s foreign trade director. “More importantly, we provide customized hardware and software for Michelin’s special needs — something European giants cannot match.”
Michelin’s mold spraying demands are uniquely strict: complex grooves and patterns require zero over spray or missing coverage to avoid tire burrs and demolding issues. Mansheng’s 6th generation system, with 360° high speed atomizer + six axis linkage path algorithm, achieves:
The system also integrates an AI visual defect inspection module that automatically detects missing areas and triggers re spray, raising yield from 93% to 99.5%. “What impressed us most was the closed loop control system,” commented Michelin’s global equipment procurement director at the signing ceremony. “It records spraying parameters and inspection results for each mold, enabling quality traceability and big data analysis — fully aligned with Industry 4.0.”
Driven by the Michelin reference, Mansheng has secured a series of major European orders:
In Q1 2025, Mansheng’s overseas orders surged 210% year on year, with Europe surpassing Southeast Asia to become its largest overseas market. “We established a European after sales office with 4 Chinese engineers and 6 local partners, plus a spare parts warehouse in Hamburg,” said Mansheng’s after sales director. “We guarantee 48 hour on site response across Europe, and 24 hour for emergencies.”
Mansheng equipment holds CE, ATEX, and EU energy labels. The company developed a multilingual interface (German, French, Polish) and supports OPC UA for seamless MES connection. “European factories prioritize safety above all,” said Mansheng’s electrical engineer. “For Bosch, we designed a PL d Category 3 safety system complying with EN ISO 13849, including dual emergency stop loops and independent pneumatic shutoff valves, passing their strict audit.”
This customization capability is supported by Mansheng’s modular design platform, with 1–12 axis configurations, variable booth lengths, and flexible paint supply systems. The R&D team delivers over 30 customized BOMs monthly.
Despite strong overseas expansion, Mansheng remains committed to the domestic market. “Our strategy is domestic foundation + overseas growth engine,” said the general manager. “China remains our largest market, especially in new energy vehicles, home appliances, and footwear.” Key domestic clients include FAW Volkswagen, BYD, Huawei, Midea, and Nike. Mansheng’s second Dongguan plant recently opened, boosting annual capacity to 5,000 units to support peak domestic delivery and large overseas orders. “Domestic buyers value cost effectiveness and speed; European clients prioritize certification, data, and environmental performance,” explained the product director. “We build different versions on the same technical platform, maintaining strong cost control.”
In April 2025, Mansheng exhibited at Hannover Messe under the theme “Smart Coating for a Green Future”, demonstrating 360° rotating spraying on complex 3D printed parts. The booth attracted over 400 companies from 30 countries, securing 15 million RMB in intent orders. “Exhibitions boost brand as much as sales,” said Mansheng’s marketing director. “Many European visitors initially assumed we were Japanese or Korean; they were surprised to learn we are Chinese. Our design, interface, and presentation now meet international standards.”
To support European growth, Mansheng plans to establish a European R&D center in Stuttgart, Germany, or Lyon, France, in 2026, tasked with:
“Our ultimate goal is to become a global intelligent coating brand, not just a Chinese brand,” said the general manager with confidence. Mansheng’s 6th generation 360° high speed rotating automatic spraying machines are available globally. International customers may contact the official English website or local overseas representatives.
